What we keep, and what we never ask for
Last changed October 17, 2026.
No personal information
Standwise has no accounts, no names, no email addresses, no photos and no free-text notes. Items come from a fixed list. We never ask about players, students, volunteers or customers.
The tools (Price Board, Buy List, Cash Box)
Your menu, crowd guesses and cash counts are kept in your browser's own storage (localStorage) on your device. They are not sent to us unless you press "Save this menu to my Stand Book".
Stand Books
- A Stand Book's key is a random 32-character code kept in a cookie in your browser and in its private link. We store only a one-way hash of it, so we cannot rebuild your link.
- A book holds the items you picked, your prices and case costs, and for each night its date, crowd count, float, cash counted, card total and units bought and sold.
- Books nobody opens for 400 days are deleted (unless a Pass is running). You can delete a book and everything in it at any time.
Limits and logs
To stop abuse we count new books and saves per connection per day, storing only a salted one-way hash of the address; those counts are deleted within 3 days. The web server keeps ordinary access logs (address, time, page) as all servers do. Application logs are deleted after 30 days.
Backups
The database is backed up nightly and each nightly backup is kept 14 days. A copy is also taken just before and after each update to the site and kept longer, only so the site can be put back if an update goes wrong; a deleted book can stay in those copies.
Cookies
Two cookies, both strictly necessary: the Stand Book key (only if you start or open a book) and a security token for forms. No tracking cookies, no analytics services and no outside fonts. The only thing these pages load from another site is the banner ad on the home page, Pricing and About, from adengine.us (see Advertising); its script also counts one page view per page, kept only as a daily total.
Advertising
The home page, Pricing and About show one banner ad from AdEngine (adengine.us), the small ad network run by WeldonPC, the company behind Standwise. For now the ads are for WeldonPC's own services. The tools (Price Board, Buy List, Cash Box), the print sheets, your Stand Book, this page, Terms and error pages never show an ad.
To show an ad, your browser loads a script from adengine.us, asks it for one banner, loads the banner image, and reports once that the page was viewed and once that the banner was shown. Like any website, adengine.us receives your internet address, your browser type and the address of this site with those requests.
- No cookies, no profile. AdEngine sets no cookies, gives you no ID and does not track you from site to site.
- How your internet address is used. adengine.us looks up the approximate city for your internet address in a location database kept on its own server (nothing is sent to anyone else), so that ads meant for one area are shown only there. It also uses the address to count each ad view or click only once and to leave out robots and WeldonPC's own office traffic. The address is not stored with the counts; the temporary entries made from it expire within six hours and are cleared from the server within two days.
- What is kept. Daily totals only: page views for this site, and views and clicks for each ad. The adengine.us web server also keeps a standard access log (internet address, time, address requested, referring site, browser) for security; it is deleted on a rolling schedule.
- Clicking an ad passes through adengine.us, which counts the click, and then opens the advertiser's site, which has its own privacy policy.
- Nothing about you is sold or shared. The ad request names only this site and the banner size: your menu, prices, cash counts and Stand Book never leave Standwise.
Payments
Payments are not switched on during the preview. When they are, PayPal handles them; we receive only the subscription's status, never your card details.
